ActionPlas Ltd are looking for an experienced Fabrication & Assembly Technician to join our Plastics Manufacturing Team. This is a hands-on manufacturing role responsible for the fabrication, forming, welding, bonding, finishing and assembly of engineering plastic components and assemblies.
You'll work with CNC-machined and fabricated components to produce everything from individual fabricated parts through to complete assemblies, working accurately from engineering drawings and customer specifications.
Responsibilities
Fabricate and assemble components from a range of engineering plastics.
Read and work accurately from engineering drawings.
Plastic welding using appropriate techniques and equipment.
Bonding, joining and assembly of plastic components.
Forming, bending and fabrication of plastic sheet.
Mechanical assembly of machined and fabricated components.
Drilling, tapping, cutting, trimming and finishing.
Fit inserts, fasteners, fixings and associated components.
Manufacture jigs, fixtures and fabricated assemblies where required.
Carry out dimensional and visual inspection.
Work accurately to specified tolerances and quality requirements.
Identify and resolve fabrication and assembly issues.
Ensure finished assemblies meet drawing and customer requirements.
Work closely with CNC Machining, Flat Sheet, Engineering and Quality teams.
Support continuous improvement of fabrication and assembly methods.
Maintain high standards of workmanship, housekeeping and safety.
We're particularly interested in candidates with experience in:
Plastic fabrication and assembly.
Plastic welding.
Plastic forming and bending.
Bonding and joining techniques.
Mechanical assembly.
Working with engineering plastic sheet and machined components.
Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
Working accurately to dimensional tolerances.
Using hand tools, power tools and workshop equipment.
Inspection and quality checking.
Experience working with materials such as PE, PP, PVC, PVDF, acrylic, polycarbonate and other engineering plastics would be advantageous. We're looking for someone with strong practical skills and a high standard of workmanship who takes pride in producing quality finished components and assemblies.

Hours of work are Monday to Thursday 7:50am - 16:20pm and Friday 8:00am - 15:30pm
